Here are some pictures from camp.
What does that look like to you? It's a towel hook from my first cabin this year.
This is Daniel wearing the vegetable coronet that I dared him to wear for breakfast. He has a bobby pin in his mouth. I had to pin it to his head, because he couldn't do it to save his life.
Daniel again, this time taking pictures at the end of second week.
This is a Sharpie tattoo on my leg from Travis. We were sitting in the benches in the amphitheatre mid-fourth week and he decided I needed another tattoo, so he drew this on my leg. It is now almost gone. I could NOT scrub it off to save my life.
This is Travis wearing a wig on Caribbean night at the end of first week.
This is Garry wearing his Michael Bolton wig on Caribbean night at the end of first week.
This is the awesome sandal tan that I have.
This is a picture of when some of the kids in my cabin dressed up as superheroes for breakfast. Yes, we are wearing swimsuits on the outside of our clothing. Underwear would have just been inappropriate.
This is the saxophone staff from fourth week. I was laughing hysterically because Alec was making faces at me.
Back row: Ryan, Brian, Matt, Simon, Jake, Paul.
Front row: Mariko, me, Erin, Adam.
This was what made me laugh so hard in the previous picture. In the RC, we had this creepy thing that sounded like the tinny music in a jewelry box, but it was a crank-operated thing that played "Yesterday." Alec would do that all the time, and it would make me laugh really hard.
This is the trumpet staff from fourth week.
Back row: Mitch, Geoff, Mike, Jonathan.
Front row: Jacque, Greg, Sarah.
This is the trombone staff from fourth week.
Back row: Scott, Emily, Esther, Anna.
Front row: Derek, Jesse, Neal, Eric.
This is the rhythm staff from fourth week.
Back row: Brian, Alec, Travis, Heather, Eric.
Middle row: Tracie, Becca, Carri, Meghan.
Front row: Drew, Greg, Liz, Keith.
This is the vocal jazz staff from fourth week; Dorin, Emily, Melissa and Kyle.
This is a picture of all of the directors from week four; Emily C, Adam, Jonathan, Alec, Emily A, Scott and Joanna.
This is a picture of me with Paul as "Counselor Monster." Counselor Monster is an evil presence which appears when counselors think something is stupid or bad. For example, Extempo. Extempo is pure evil, because the song sucks and gets stuck in one's head forever. So, to keep it interesting, the staff band switches instruments between themselves and it sounds terrible, but we're having fun. Anyway, last week, when we were playing the Extempo music, Paul (as Counselor Monster) came onstage and started yelling in his Counselor Monster voice... I couldn't play, I was laughing so hard. It was great. I love Counselor Monster.
This and the following picture are pictures of the moon over the water last night. It was absolutely gorgeous.
This is Mariko before our doubling workshop. For those of you who don't know what doubling is, we basically taught beginning clarinet to a bunch of sax players so they'd be more versatile in their jazz abilities. (We both double on sax; she's on alto and I'm on bari.)
This is Jacque. She taught drama with me all last week, and cracked me up. She also taught drama with another girl in the workshop prior to ours, and she always told me that mine was like a breath of fresh air, since the other girl seemed intent on boring the kids to sleep.
This is Dorin and Carri. Carri and I have a nice made-up gesture that we used a LOT during fourth week. We also sauntered around upper camp today checking cabins for chairs so we wouldn't have to do garbage pick-up. Dorin and I taught drama together for two weeks.
This is Dorin and Jesse. Jesse was the hot counselor most of the weeks, except second. The girls in my cabin thought he was too pretty, and the "pretty boy" nickname stuck with him all through third and fourth week as well.
This is me with Dorin. I was totally skanked out today after the kids left. I rolled my sleeves all the way up my shoulders, and then I tucked the rest of my shirt in under my bra because it was so fucking hot. I looked like a camper, I was so skanky.
This was supposed to just be a picture of Tracie, Jake and Emily, but Alec walked into it at the last minute.
