How hard is it to find out that you have the worst grade in a class of advanced ceramics, even though it's still an A? Hard.

How hard is it to panic about finding swollen, achey lymph nodes on your chest, armpits? Hard.

Doesn't that mean everyone is really talented, and you should feel good about being on the same level?

Swollen lymph nodes probably mean you have a bacterial or viral infection - I wouldn't worry too much about them. If the swelling doesn't go away after two weeks, see a doctor.

Technically everyone has an A or A+. I'm the only one with an A-. It's still an A in the books, but I'm starting to question my work ethics there.

Should I still go to the doctor to get treated for the infection? Especially if I want to not be sick next week? I've been feeling like I'm about to get sick for the past two weeks? I didn't notice the bumps until a week or so ago, but they only started aching Saturday.

If it's bacterial, the doctor would give you antibiotics, which would help your body fight off the infection faster. If you have leftover antibiotics from a previous infection, you could probably take a few of those to see if the infection goes away (although your doctor would advise you not to do so). If it's viral, I don't think there's a lot they can do besides give you salts to gargle if you have a throat infection.

If you really don't want to get sick, and you feel something coming on, the sooner you start pills, the faster it goes away. So, maybe you could schedule a same-day appointment with your doctor's nurse practioner.

If you want to wait it out, check your lymph nodes after a week or two, and if they're still swollen after they've been there for three weeks, see your doctor.

Drink a lot of water and massage your skin - it helps filter the lymph.
