so, we're all packed, ready to go...still a few things to do...go to library, sleep(yes! sleep) finish packing carryone...i'm starving! anyways, yesterday at church it was missions night , the man speaking (austin t. duncan) is the stm (short term missions) director at our church. they showed this really moving powerpoint, showing different countries (like croatia, ecuador(did you know there are 22 languages spoken there, and they only have Bibles in like 5 or 8 languages), germany, france, japan, etc) through pictures, then how many people were in the contry and how many were evangelical christians...one country is like.5%...the last section was the valley...did you know mormanism, jehovah's witnesses, and judaism are the three fastest growing religions here, each with over 300,000...ummm...attendees? members...(side note: 1/2 of the valley is bilingual...i am so not one of those!)...then slides of monroe, saugas, canyon, grananda, and some other schools represented by 180 ministries...all shown while "King of Glory" played in the background. the lyrics to this song are incedibally good, so...here they are!
King of Glory
sung by Third Day
Who is this King of Glory that persues me with his love
And haunts me with each hearing of His softly spoken words
My conscience, a reminder of forgiveness that I need
Who is this King of Glory who offers it to me

Who is this King of angels, O blessed Prince of Peace
Revealing things of Heaven and all its mysteries
My spirit¹s ever longing for His grace in which to stand
Who's this King of glory, Son of God and son of man

His name is Jesus, precious Jesus
The Lord Almighty, the King of my heart
The King of glory

Who is this King of Glory with strength and majesty
And wisdom beyond measure, the graceous King of kings
the Lord of Earth and Heaven, the Creator of all things
Who is this King of Glory, He's everything to me

The Lord of Earth and Heaven, the Creator of all things
He is the King of glory, He's everything to me

well, towards the end of our group prayer time,  we were encouraged and challeneged to take the gospel to our campuses, as well as make the most out of every opportunity...i was convicted to be praying for lab, because even though it's a christian school in name, there are alot of people who are hurting and need to see Jesus's love lived out...so that's my goal this year, to be a missionry to my campus, and to make the most of every opportunity out there...not to have a fear of man, and to be more concerned about the fear of GOD, then what might happen...we also had the privelige of praying for the persecuted church...the chinese church and those who are imprisoned for their faith...persecution.com has many stories of prisoners who are serving anything from a 4 year sentance, to a life sentence, or awaiting execution. we in america have it so easy...we can share our faith without fear of imprisonmetn, but we keep it to ourselves...something to think about...
i hope our vacation goes well...and then school starts...i'm a senior!
