Once exist an azure blue bird that beats the brilliance if the sky. So blue that the sky envied her.  Out of jealousy, the sky cursed : “Father, why did you create bird that beats MY brilliance, none of the world’s sapphire or aquamarines shall never better me, not even the seas, better me. But why then, you created that tiny bird beats even me? The puny thing you endear so you allow it to better its host, me, the Sky?”

Yet Father claimed that he created the world as perfect as He wanted it. None is less beautiful than the others, and everything has its own brilliance to share.

That Azure Sky could’ve done nothing but accepted Father’s words. For His words are Truth, and tells only equal love to all He created. The Sky watched the azure blue bird with jealousy as she soared the sky. All eyes would gaze upon her, not the majestic sky. What could simple bird do but fly? Why then, human gaze the puny bird instead of something bigger? The Sky only could ponder in anger. Gritting his teeth, he cursed the innocent bird.

His curse, was heard…by the Lord of Oblivion. Forgotten Lord that Father despised, out of all His creations, only he Father hate, for he is the one that shall erase Existence. But what help shall Oblivion do? The Sky wondered? What Forgotten would do to aid him, the sorrowful sky?

“O’ woeful sky, the magnificent broad sky, nothing in the world would beat thine blueness. No, not even the Great Seas and Sapphire mortals love so” said Lord Forgotten.

“Away with thine façade, no need to praise we so, Forgotten One, we shall not tolerate what Father despise” claimed Sky in anger, for those words hurt him so.

“Oh, Father? The great Father that hurts His own son? Would you call Him Father when He does nothing but reject and despise? Playing with His ragdoll of Life He called ‘Beloved Creations?’. He only wishes to be praised, pwah!” returned Lord Forgotten “but then, it is Brother’s duty to help his siblings no? I shall do my best to aid you”

The Sky said nothing.

“I see you’re jealous with that little bird, but why would you, of all Father’s creation, the broad hearted Sky, to angered so? What did this little bird do to you?”

“We are jealous…the foolish mortals gaze upon it with amazement they never did to mine”

“Ah, foolishness of mortals…I see my Brother’s saddened with but puny thing…what an irony for you to be disturbed by what so called impersonation of Sky, ha!”

“Forgotten One, what could have thy do, thou art nothing but impersonation of Existence, the fraud Life, for thou art never Exist, thou art Oblivion”

“It is because we are Oblivion, we may aid thee, Brother…” grinned Forgotten One.

The azure blue bird that once soared the sky then encaged within golden cage, away from the angered sky that wished nothing but its demise. What misery Oblivion have given her? None, only the memories of flight stripped. The gentleness of breeze, the great adventure that awaited her, all of the memories were taken away. Forgotten beyond Oblivion. What the Forgotten One has taken then, shall never return.

Years passed, and Azure fleet conquered the sky no more. Their numbers dwindling, until the point only one remained. The sad figure fluttered its wings inside the golden cage that separated her from the outer world. Cielo, she was named by the human master. The master would put her cage beside the opened window, for her to enjoy the gentleness of the wind, and the sweet scent of flowers. She would gaze upon the sky, satisfied with Oblivion’s mischief then. Memories of flight taken, she could not fathom what it’s like to conquer the sky.

“Oh, it is her…yes it is her”

Cielo followed the source of the voice, to find a nightingale stood beside her golden cage. The only world she knew of.

“I heard of you, you’re the last of Azure Fleet” claimed the nightingale. “What a shame, what a shame, to see the conqueror of sky to end up within mortal’s cage. My grandmother used to tell me the story of brave blues, challenged the very host itself, Lord Sky, and adventured beyond horizons.”

The weak Cielo frowned.

“Why must you frown so? It is not your fate to be encaged within that pitiful place, and under human’s oppression too!”

“What do you know?” returned Cielo “my wings are weak, and I don’t know how to fly! I don’t know anything beyond this cage, I was born here and it is where I shall die! I never know the blue sky or even the great seas, I never know how to flutter my wings, not even drops of rain ever touched me! Away with you!”

The nightingale flew away then, kept looking back to see the saddened Cielo. To see the slight jealousy within the small sad eyes.  “What could I do for her?” , she pondered.

Day by day the nightingale returned to see encaged remains of Azure Fleet, gorgeous in its doom. She would talk to Cielo exactly as her grandmother told, how great was the Azure Fleet when their numbers were enormous.  What adventures told as they conquered the sky of the world. Adventurers Father endear. Yet, the more stories told, the more closed Cielo’s heart be.

“What ails you, friend?” asked Nightingale one day.

“The more you tell me the stories, friend, the more I wish to taste the adventure myself, it’s poisoning me with thirst that cannot be quenched!”

“That, my friend, only you can decide, would you rather to stay inside that dark room forever?” returned the nightingale. “or taste freedom that your ancestors once conquered? The sky is yours friend”

“But why then…my fleet would disappear so? Tell me friend, what your Grandmother told you”

“That is a mystery left unknown…even the wisest of mortals cannot fathom what Father does, He thinks only the best of us”

“So why Father would have us disappear?” asked curious Cielo.

“That is, I cannot answer” murmured Nightingale.

Days passed, and little Cielo gazed upon the great sky with eyes brim with expectation and curiosity. Once chance given, then, she shall soar the sky as her ancestors did. The Sky, almost forgotten the gaze of the Azure Fleet, surprised. Long has passed since last that eye would gaze upon him. The eyes that would once again conquer over him. Forgotten One gaze at his brother in fake sympathy, while within he would laugh at the pitiful figure that supposed to protect the world. How simple jealousy would ruin a strong figure so. Again, he offered aids.

One day, Oblivion visited the mortal that housed little Cielo, and intentionally made him forget to lock the bird’s cage. And made him put the cage at the usual window, where the nightingale would converse with her always. As expected, the nightingale pointed it toward the curious Cielo.

“Your master had forgotten to lock! O’ praise Father! You’re free to go!”

“Indeed it is!”

“Come, out of that dreaded cage, friend, taste freedom with your own wings!”

Then, Cielo stepped out for the first time, the breeze welcomed her gently. The Nightingale chirped in happiness, fluttering its wings in euphoria, making example for little Cielo to follow. Cielo followed suit, fluttered its wings in happiness. One…two…jump…and both of them flew away. Away from the cage that housed little Cielo, away from the world she know.

The Nightingale flew behind Cielo, gazing upon the last remnant of the Azure Fleet she always told about. Little Cielo would conquer the sky once again. But as fleeting as the life of mortals, then, one by one, little Cielo’s feathers plucked away…away from its weak body. The blue feathers were blown away by the wind…and the weak remains fell onto the Earth.

“After all…what we hath taken cannot be returned” laughed Lord Oblivion.
