Cats and headphones

We have a new kitten named Abby whom we love very much but who has turned out to be quite precocious. And she likes to chew things.

I thought this was fine (cute, really) but I noticed today that my headphones were only coming in on one side. Hmm, weird. Hey, what's this gash in the cord with teeth marks all around it??

Start hiding your headphones, I went through 6 headphones in a few months before I finally started putting my headphones in a drawer whenever not in use. Now if I can just get my cat to stop eating through shoe laces.

Replacing headphone cord is one of those easy starter tasks, and soldering iron skills are really valuable when dealing with electronics...

Or take them to nearest electronics repair shop, I bet they can repair that for $3 or so...

A similar cat is the reason I bought a soldering iron. I found that my (adult and never going to grow out of it) cat finds cords that are hanging vertically in space to be especially delicious, and arranging them so they don't do that helps a lot. Also I have a lot of wireless devices. :)
