I thought Gaga and the video overall looked ridiculously stylish. The problem was that the staging felt very icy and detached (much like Klein's photography), so it didn't fit well with the song. So, mixed feelings :|
She was looking so fierce. I feel like there is meaning to this but its too cryptic for me to understand at all. I'm sure I can look up what she means and it will make sense.
Did it have a Madonna feel to you? I was getting a super Madonna feel from that.
ITA on the Madonna influences, especially her "Vogue" and "Human Nature" videos, and with the religious iconography. You know, I did like it better after seeing it again this morning - I'm still not sure its a comfortable fit for "Alejandro" (since it sounds so ABBA or Ace of Base), but it's a gorgeous video. I need to find icons!
I dunno what it is about her videos, I'm always underwhelmed the first time I see then, then I watch it again and hearts; OMG ♥
I was expecting a more warm-themed video, maybe set in Mexico but that would be too obvious. I loved the subversion of traditional gender roles, along with Nazi/Vatican imagery - two institutions that have traditionally persecuted gays - I dunno how the fuck to analyze it, or even if I should be lol.

I have to say that I liked the skin toned underwear with the short haircut the best in this video. I liked that the men had high heels on in parts of that scene.
I seriously love it so hard. I don't know why other than Lady Gaga puts subliminal messaging in everything she does so that she can continue to take over the world.
