Well, lessee....
- Tom's birthday is today. =3 He's 21 now. Happy birthday, sweetheart!!! (Even though you don't go on LJ)
- Had lunch with my grampa and step-gramma on my Dad's side today. Went to McGinnis (sp?) Landing out in London. Driving was horrible. Figures it looks much better now that we've gotten home.
Okay. So first of all, at McGinnis, there was this one waiter who looked scarily like Tom. I mean, not like his twin or anything, but his build was very similar, his hairstyle was very similar (though he had a chin-warmer), he had glasses.... If you really looked at him, he didn't REALLY look like Tom, but it was that sort of similarity where, in passing, you go "HOLY CRAP O__O!!!"
Needless to say I was a little distracted at lunch, seeing as I was already missing Tom due to it being his birthday, and then here's his look-alike.
On a somewhat related topic, this is the second time I've gone to McGinnis since the renovations, and both times its gotten me thinking about working at a joint like that myself... Not just me, though: Have a restaurant entirely owned and operated by my friends. I can see it so clearly... Tom working away in the kitchen, entirely in the zone... Bunnie and Heather working at the bar... Rufu and Ezri and Chris and AJ being waiters/a waitress... Just everyone all working together, and all having so much fun, just entirely loving it. It'd be like old times every single day, only minus the high-school drama crap. (Hopefully, anyway)
I think as far as a manager, the first one to come to mind would be Kichy. She's really organized. Or Ezri or Brianna. They're all really good with that kind of stuff. But at the same time, they're all bubbly-happy: too much so to be sitting in a stuffy office all the time doing paperwork. They'd be happier out on the floor, at least from what I can see.
As for me, I'd be the karaoke disk jockey. (Come on, if I'm working at a restaurant, I'm making sure we've got Friday night karaoke, at the VERY least) Beyond that, not sure what I'd be doing. Probably just whatever we didn't have enough people working on. In the kitchen with Tom, working the bar with the girls, escorting groups to their seats, etc....
And of course, Chris and Sean would get up on stage now and again and jam for a while =P The restaurant would become well-known as the home of Colchester.
I'd love that so much....
Aaanywho, now that I've got my mood all weird o_O I have to be productive now. *sigh* Really would rather be lazy.
P.S. My sister is entirely insane. She's been riding steers (AKA young bulls) this weekend. I got to watch her do a round today: She's nuts. Her friend Rachel went, too.
