In the grand scheme of things your personal life is the thing that matters the most and as you said it is going great. You have a family that loves you, a woman that loves you and great friends. The rest is just what you do along the way and that can and will change. You are very intelligent and have a lot on the ball and if they can't see it, then maybe you need to figure out a way to take classes on weekends on their dime so that you can get another job.
