Today has been rough for me.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but today has been rough for me.
Today I got rid of my first car. :( I've had this car since High School, and I've held on to it for so long in hopes that one day I'd be able to finally fix it, or get on Pimp My Ride. It's strange how attached you can become to an inanimate object. For a long time, the Sentra ( Read more... )

The only car that could ever look tolerable with a bunch of Bondo on the side.
RIP the StreetRod. It survived Tommy taking it over the parking divider at DQ and many, many other accidents. What a trooper.
It rivaled the Gentile's beast van for invincibility.

The beast van might have the Sentra beat. The Daytona probably has al of them beat, but I don't consider the Daytona or the Corolla my first car. The Sentra was my first REAL car, having a original price tag of 2500.00$. The Daytona was 50.00$ and the Corolla was 850.00$. Hardly a comparison.

I was wondering about that. I remember the Corolla. I was actually just telling someone about it yesterday.
Well, as I said, R.I.P. The Monte has a some big tire tracks to follow in.

Remember the past, dream about the future, but LIVE in today. wstreet100 August 29 2005, 12:53:42 UTC
Its sad, but life moves on. For sure. Hopefully the Monte will come around and be everything to you as a 20-something that the Rod was to you as a teen.

I was sad when my old Nomad van was taken away - its the car in which I had my first date with Colleen. And I will be sad when the white van gets taken away... but it hasn't meant as much to me as the SR did to you.

Tonight I will hoist a cold one and toast to the memory of the StreetRod and what it meant to you.

I plan to raise one up this Saturday in honor of the Rod. I guess the thing that makes it hard is that it's the last tangible part of my teenage years that was still around. I will always have the memories though and that's what is important.

A bittersweet end to a long day anonymous August 29 2005, 18:20:02 UTC
The death of the Sentra is a bittersweet day. While it holds a great deal of notsalgia, somthings are better left in the past. We'll always miss it, but now you have a monte and there are lots of things to do to a monte.

I have not clue who this is, but thanks for writing. It's cool that a few people decided to. I know everyone has atleast one memory of the car. It lived through quite a bit of abuse, and was present for pretty much every important day in my life.

Hi Bud

I know the feeling, I cried when my first car was hauled away. There is something about that first car you have as a teenager. It really holds the memories. I was just telling Elizabeth a story yesterday about my first car (which had been your Dad's before mine). You'll hold the memories forever.
Love you

Thanks everyone who has left a message or a memory of the car. For anyone who hasn't and wants to, use the Drop me a Line link at the bottom of the post, and set the from bullet to Anonymous. It is set to post anything either you have an account or not.

Thanks,
