a guy in our room here is from a mexican family but was born in france and spent most of his life there. so today i watched the brazil/france game with him. i wore my orange Brazil shirt and he cheered for France (his cheers were in Spanish). it was at this huge outdoor bar across the street from our hostel with enormous TVs. he described the place as "some kind of industrial drinking machine"

edinburgh is filled with punks. my brother loves it so much here. we climbed the hill again today, then went out behind it where there was this pond filled with swans.

i drank some Rubicon since it was in an M.I.A. song. turns out it's a delicious soft drink in exotic fruit flavors like mango and guava. i wish i could find it in the states.
