I've just rediscovered Spiritualized, which is always a good thing. I listened to "Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space" so many times my freshman year at UMaine. Whenever I'd start feeling sorry for myself that year, they'd deliver a devastating one-liner like "Hey man, there's a hole in my arm where all the money goes/ Jesus Christ died ( Read more... )

Seriously.

My senior year I was taking that "listening to music" class, or whatever it was. I posted the title track in the class folder (because it is a canon) and the TA loved me so much after that, I didn't have to study anymore,

I love that album.

I was crazy in love with that album when I was fifteen. Clearly I will have to go give it another listen to see if it stands the test of time better than other things I loved when I was fifteen (let's just say Paula Cole would be the least embarrassing one on the list!).

In other news, I am horrified to realize that was over ten years ago. Pardon me while I go put in my false teeth and wind up the Victrola.
