"Funplex" their new album is actually pretty... you know... "good" isn't the right word here. But it is very them. The week it went for adds I probably heard it about ten billion times on rotate at the Pirate! offices. They know they're a bit of a novelty act, but fuck it. They're still making fun music and rhyming "g-spot" with "rest stop".

I like the way their songs are arranged. And I'm not sure I'd call them a novelty act just because they're fun. But then, I never thought of Atom and His Package or Gogol Bordello as novelty acts. I actually had an aversion to Beck's "Midnite Vultures" when it came out because if felt like novelty music and I took things too seriously to enjoy it.

But I got over that.
