I got the following IM yesterday

Any of the trout IM's are a 4chan thing that sends IM's to people who have recently posted public livejournal entires or comments. The messages are generated at random from 4chan posts or other sources.

If you responded, by the way, it sends your answer to another screen name, a name that has no connection to or idea about what the trout IM name has said.

That is creepy though. I discovered it when it was a lot more whimsical; it said, "I do say, good chap, have you seen my hat?"

Sometimes its IM name includes the word Salmon.

And if you rearrange the senders name, you get "Rut Incubus Vet Jot!" I don't know what the rest of it means, but clearly there is either a hormonally overactive demon or an alternative rock band in your future.
