Trying to make a House a Home.

While we were in Vancouver I wanted to bring something home that would remind me of our time there.

The day before leaving we spent the afternoon walking around Granville Island and happened upon a shop with hand-made brooms. I have always been fascinated with the idea of broom making (thanks to a video that I saw on one of Martha Stewarts shows ( Read more... )

You talk of brooms and it makes me think of how scared Ella is of witches. Neat souvenir idea though for sure. I'm looking forward to when I go to Vancouver.

Apparently our thing is to get a shot glass (I have no idea how this started), so we have a bunch of tacky shot glasses packed away in a box. When I travel though, I like to get something for the house decor wise that looks really nice and is unique, like a piece of art, a statue, or some little knick knack.

I totally walked past that broom shop too, and was just amazed at how many brooms there are there! That's great that you got exactly what you were looking for. :)

I also bought two platters (resin) which I have a collection of, but the broom meant more to me in terms of what it represented.
