Spock/Kirk, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned anonymous May 21 2013, 21:09:23 UTC
ST ID spoiler

//First thing first: I respect everyone's opinion, so I ask you to do the same. If you adore Uhura to bits and can't see her as a bad person - please skip this post.

After Jim died, Spock finally acknowledges their t'hy'la bond - and that he is actually in love with Jim. And there is a way to bring him back, so everything is sunshine and roses. Or not, because there is Uhura to confront first. And she is not happy that she is dumped.

I'd like an Uhura who thinks herself perfect, and just can't accept that Jim Kirk - the drunkard idiot from a bar - is better than her, had better grades, became a Hero, and now also takes her man.

Bonus:
++ Uhura is not a nice person if she doesn't get what she wants
++++ She actually tried to sabotage things in the Med-center - almost resulting in Jim's death
+++++++++ All the nasty rumors about Jim's academic years suddenly start to come to light (again)
+++++++++++++++ Uhura!bashing, at the end with her getting down a peg or two - and Spock happily bonging with Jim.

Can we NOT do this again???
Jeez, man.
How is racism/sexism a fetish??

Racism? Where? Not liking one character is not racism. Nor sexism, as her gender is not what matters here.

Bashing is also a type of fic, and just because you don't like it, does not mean you have the right to kink-shame.

Getting down a peg or two Not again, please.

Jim and Uhura are friends, you know? she was so worried for him in the end, and he is close to her, so this prompt is fucking stupid.

And your response is kink shaming.

"//First thing first: I respect everyone's opinion, so I ask you to do the same. If you adore Uhura to bits and can't see her as a bad person - please skip this post." <- and this is a request.
Everyone likes different things, why cant we be nice and don't make a wank-fest?

...Or do you guys go to some pairing promts and say they are stupid? Or kinks you don't like? Geez, bashing is a type of fic too.

I'd like to read this, so I second it.

(I don't hate Uhura. I just don't like how they essentially took Bones out of the reboot verse of the main away team and replaced him with her.)

I can agree to that. It was a triumvirate with Kirk, Spock, and Bones. But not it seems like they're replacing Bones with Uhura, and why? Is it because she is a woman?

(Also, not saying I hate Uhura. And I can see Uhura not being happy with Spock suddenly wanting Jim, she would try and challenge that, make herself better or somewhat mimic Jim in hopes that Spock likes her better.)

Logically, it made sense for Uhura to be on the away team when they got to Kronos, because she spoke Klingon.

You can dislike it all you want, but having Bones there would make absolutely zero sense.

All the Bones fans shitting on the one single woman in the main cast for daring to, omg, exist and have plot-relevant actions... are really turning me off from Bones :(

Um it's not the Bones fans who are shitting on Uhura. All the Bones fans I've known and met have no hate for anyone but maybe the script writers, but I'm sure that's more universal.

All the hate I've seen on Uhura has been from a small set of KSers (not all, cause I do know a few who are lovely people).

Um it's not the Bones fans who are shitting on Uhura.

Apparently you didn't read the post I was replying to, and you weren't on ontd_startrek when the poster came out with Uhura on it. Most of the comments were from Bones fans whining about how Uhura broke up the holy trinity. Noticeably nobody complained about how prominent Whiteboy Cumberbatch was in the promotional material.

K/S fans are jerks about Uhura sometimes too, but there's a percentage of Bones fans that make fandom really unpleasant for Uhura fans as well.

I'd like an Uhura who thinks herself perfect so you'd like her to be out of character?

this bashing is what makes being a k/s fan so distasteful at times despite the usual awesome
