It is such a nice day, just like any other day in socal, sunny and breezy.  I figured i need some exercise, so i have picked up walking these days.  my co-workers and I have formed a walking team during lunch break to walk around for half an hour everyday.  in addition, I am going hiking on weekends.  In fact I went hiking a couple weeks ago.  my

My mom and one of her friends go hiking every Sunday (well, the try to, my mom's been so busy with work recently that she hasn't even ahd time for that). When I'm in Hawai'i, I go with them. It's so enjoyable and the sights are lovely! They go in the morning and then go for lunch afterwards, and what cracks me up is that when they go to lunch they always look for the closest parking spot. I told them "we just climbed a mountain, what's the big deal about walking across a parking lot?" and they informed me that it's not the same thing. I was very amused!

hiking is a much more enjoyable exercise than going to the gym. maybe that's why i hardly ever go to the gym

I agree with you completely. That was nice about being in Hawai'i, being able to go hiking all the time. It's a lot harder in Michigan.
