Stretching + Parents

Jan 13, 2008 17:10

A recent post here made me think a little bit. I've heard a lot about people made to stop by their parents, but I wonder if it's really that necessary. Mine certainly didn't know anything about it until I told them. With the stretching process as gradual as it is, it seems to me that unless your parents inspect the size of your earlobes often they ( Read more... )

My mom never really cared about what I did with my ears but my grandmother is crazy about it. I wear my dichro when I'm around here and she just thinks they're large sparkly earrings (though I am only at 8g).

Even at larger sizes I doubt you'd have a problem as long as someone couldn't see through your ear. There are post earrings with fronts as big as 5/8".

I'm at 3/4" and my parents have no clue. I mostly just wear my hair down around them.

When I was at smaller sizes and had short hair I would just wear solid plugs (no eyelets) and they still had no idea.

Even at 2g they had no clue. It doesn't take much effort, just common sense I think. Don't wear anything with a noticeable hole, hanging designs or spirals. Even employers won't notice.

there are some parents that will never "let you do what you want." like mine. they will freak out, and i'm 22. i'd rather just avoid the unnecessary drama.

Well that's why I'm asking really. My parents have no issue with it but I know some do, and it seems that if someone simply takes it slowly and doesn't make it into an issue they can escape unscathed.

I'm at 0g and my parents aren't aware that I've stretched.
I just wear my hair down and solid glass plugs such as galaxies and dichro around them. They just look like large earrings.

just think, if you get the other one scalpelled then they'll never ask why you're wearing odd earrings.
i wanna see you get scalpelled. it will be awesome. or at least pierced at like, 2g.

Eee I'd love to get scalpelled but I know that the nervousness before getting it done would overwhelm me and I'd vomit everywhere.
I'm thinking of getting it pierced at a larger gauge, but not as large as 2g. I enjoy the process of stretching and my goal size is only 0g!
