Depressed

After an allergic reaction to a kaos tunnel my right lobe has shrunk from a nice 1/2 inch to about a 4 or 6 g. I'm so sad, it had taken me years to reach this, and my goal was 1-1/8 inch. Right now my lobe is an icky mess, and when it's healed it will be ages before I can start to stretch it again. The only upside I can see is that I can take ( Read more... )

I don't see why they had to shrink up that much? Did the silicone do that, or did you downsize?

The hole was raw, so I had to downsize. I didn't want to put anything in it. I guess I could have put something a few sizes smaller in, but there was pain and badness, so I wanted to leave it alone.
I think, since it was so raw, it sort of healed in on itself.
Was that bad? Should I have put something in it?

Personally, I wouldn't have let my hole shrink that much and just attended the problem as it was. That's why I was confused, but if it hurt then you did the right thing.

I thought that trying to get a plug through would just exacerbate it. Should I put a plug through now then, so it wont shrink anymore?

I feel your pain :( Due to an incident recently when stretching to 00ga, I had to downsize to 2ga.

Look at it this way. What usually throttles people's stretching is thinning lobes, and downsizing by such a large margin is going to thicken your lobes a LOT. So you'll be able to stretch (a bit) faster further down the line.

What do you mean by "throttles people's stretching"

What slows people's stretching down. If you're thinning, you're going to have to be downsizing and restretching a fair bit, hence it's going to take longer to get to your target size.

I had a bad reaction to some acrylic plugs and had to downsize from 00g to 4g. It sucks, I'm sorry :(

At least we made the right choice and did downsize, instead of hoping it would just get better with time. So yay us on that anyways. But it does suck

It is possible to have a silicone allergy, though rare. I work with two people who developed a silicone allergy by wearing silicone gloves day in and day out for extended periods of time. They get glove liners (which sucks and makes your fingers fat) and it works OK.

Then I guess it was under oiling+ripping. I just thought "omg, allergy" when I say the ooey, fungus-y surface of my fistula. It was really nasty and a bit of a shock.

Most people find it is much easier to stretch the second time around after downsizing, so hopefully it won't take as long :]

That feels good to hear :)
