It helps with tv show recommendations at least. My parents called me into the room when watching Vera, which stars a frumpy, heavy, sort-of-grumpy middle-aged woman police detective. I was like "IS SHE THE MAIN CHARACTER".

But it also helps with them trolling me. Like my mom will say something negative about some morally ambiguous woman and watch me get all indignant and defensive ABOUT WHY SHE'S ACTUALLY GREAT and then start laughing because she was just bugging me.
