I had a really fucking bad day today. It sort of started last night (the 10th) when I was trying to finish up my perfect play through of the Mass Effect series to find myself locked out of some critical dialogue. I ended up playing again through several things I had done before to see if what I missed was in one of those places, but it turns out

An antibiotic and an antibacterial mouthwash is the treatment the dentist gave me for the next two weeks before the next appointment. I glossed over that part because when writing this entry, I was (and still am a bit, just not as much) depressed over the whole thing.
My mom really wants a second opinion from her regular dentist, but if it truly is a cracked tooth, then having a second opinion would just be paying money for what we already know. Especially since it was so hard to tell from the x-rays taken and the tests given will probably be the same ones that were given this time around.
My mom definitely wants me to get a fake tooth or bridge, but even with that put in, it still hurts my self-esteem very much to be loosing a tooth at my age. I already have major self-esteem issues and this certainly doesn't help matters much more.
I appreciate the thoughts and encouragement. It's very easy to loose sight when something bad happens.

Also, don't feel bad that you got a cracked tooth. It can happen very easily. Like when eating a nut or something hard. Anything can crack it. It doesn't matter how much you clean the tooth, it can still happen. That's what happened to both my dad and I.
My friend actually got one of those fake teeth implanted. She lost a tooth because apparently it got infected and the roots all died. But when she got it, the tooth looked blended in with the rest of the teeth. They take a color from the surrounding teeth and match it so that it looks completely normal.

Yes, I realize that now. It seems very downing at the time, but my outlook is much better after a good cry, lots of sleep, and writing it all out.
I really appreciate you talking to me about it. It's really helped me sort it out. /hugs

Hopefully things regarding this issue are better now? :) *sends as many positive vibes as possible*
I don't really know much about teeth, but I have had surgery once to remove one that was in my gum, and I didn't particularly enjoy that. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to lose a tooth, though I do know a few people who have. I don't think it's a non-commonplace thing though!
(Haven't been on LJ for a while, so I'm trying to catch up reading things on my f-list, hence why this comment is so late!)
