twelve | so not down with this sickness

Feb 14, 2011 18:37

[ On this ridiculous holiday, a boy and his baseball bat can be found in one (or more) of the following scenarios:

a)  in school wondering why he's being forced to cut out these stupid paper hearts. Do they honestly expect him to do this all day and then pass this stuff around? He's so ready to ditch school altogether. He may try to seek refuge at ( Read more... )

[Looking under the desk]

What are you doing?

[At the sound of the voice, Slugger's shoulders rise as if he's been startled. Unusual considering Ai is the least likely person to cause such a reaction. Turning to her, he raises a finger to his lips, waits a moment to see if anyone heard, ...then answers in a particularly quiet voice:]

Hiding.

[Comes in and sits next to him. Opps, just brushed your foot there.]

Why?

[He scoots over, quickly finding a lack of space to move around in. It's kind of tight under here, after all, and it's putting the two of them shoulder-to-shoulder. The teacher apparently hasn't noticed them missing yet--probably too busy supervising drone children in their Valentine-making skills.]

Out there... the stuff. [He swallows, dry-mouthed and suddenly very aware of Ai's proximity. For now he'll brush it off as having too little oxygen.]

It's annoying.

[ Nena can be seen, in her great figure, running along the park skipping in the grass and then doing stretches.

You're more than welcome to um, observe, her. ]

[That he does. First from behind a tree trunk and then from over the pages of a newspaper as he sits at a random park bench. The object of his attention--an older teenage girl in appearance--has yet to do anything particularly unusual, though not having met her before, he can't be certain. However, this doesn't stop him from observing.

If she looks in his direction, he'll dip his head and act as though he's reading this fascinating business section...]

[ Nena begins to unbutton the top of her shirt because it makes her uncomfortable. She giggles and dances in the park before picking up a couple of daisies. She doesn't know what to do with them but she puts them in her hair and merrily continues onward after seeing some ducks that catch her eye.

Like a child, she chases after them throwing a giggling fit. Now that's odd ]

[Watching her, Slugger arrives at precisely this conclusion. Perhaps this girl's painfully merry behavior has something to do with the mysterious illness he's been hearing about, though he wasn't aware it caused people to lose their minds. Interesting.

Also, he did not just move to the bench closer to the duck pond for a better look. That was your imagination, he has been here the entire time. Really.]

[Slugger will likely run into Edward looking around the house, frantically trying to fix himself up before his big date with Harley that night.]

Cufflinks, cufflinks, where are those damned---

Slugger!

[Slugger has been taking note of Edward's odd behavior... though it isn't all that different from his usual behavior. By the time his name is called, Slugger is already there, standing in Edward's way and watching him suspiciously.]

...What?

You haven't hidden my cufflinks anywhere, have you? They're small, purple, shaped like little question-marks.

[He doesn't want to run late, so this is a bit urgent.]

[He shakes his head. No, he did not. But he will if he happens to come across them before you do, Edward.]

What are they for?

[Chizuko, the shy girl in the back of the class, has observed you in there. You're an affront to the arts of stealth, Slugger.]

That is a pretty bad place to conceal yourself.

...It's temporary.

[Arms folded, he slumps a little lower against the desk while his knees rise a little higher against the opposite side to compensate--he's a bit crunched up under here.]

What do you want?
