I had such an awesome weekend. I hope it was the precursor to an even better summer. if the next few months resemble this past weekend, my life will be made. or at least the few months between my junior and senior year will be made.
friday:
~played a mad game of trivial pursuit with kate, nick, and conor. who knows what the hell cocoon is, anyway? I'm not bitter, really. we totally did benefit from those dvd questions... maybe. enh not really.
~kate and I practiced some exercises (pertaining to a very specific technique which I have mastered and needed to teach kate) on her family room floor. at the time, we said something along the lines of "how hilarious would it be if your mom walked in right now?", only to look up seconds later and see her standing there. I promise, the above situation was not gross, as it may sound.
~I had a much needed pre-sleeping conversation with kate... the kind where I end up continuously babbling on the air matress while she attempts to give me near-asleep responses a few feet away from me in her bed. I like those conversations.
saturday:
~mud war '04. it was a little painful due to the gritty quality of the dirt, yet still amazing. of course I have pictures to document it.
erin was the ultimate winner. it is undecided which team was victorious because of the blood=automatic win rule. but erin was incredible and undefeated.
~after the mud war and after the near destruction of my neighbor's mailbox, a few of us watched adaptation... fairly good, but probably would have been better if I hadn't taken one minute naps through out the movie.
sunday:
~minus the bear. was so good. and by good, I mean the best set I've ever seen. everyone I was with didn't express their enjoyment until they were done playing, but I was my usual overly-excited self anyway. only multiply my normal excited state by 38457934. rescue and braid played well (although braid played a little too long), and murder by death has a very misleading (and may I add... bad?) name, because they were surprisingly good, as well.
~coney afterwards. I hadn't sat at the corner table in such a long time... that was something else that made me excited for summer, but I'm not exactly sure how to explain it.
~sara and I drove back out to 7-11 and I elbowed her slurpee into the backseat of her car. we returned to my house, talked about things, and put tape on my cat's nose to make him go off balance. the damn thing could still walk without a problem. haha we're terrible.
monday:
~a couple hours at a family party until my allergies kicked in hardcore and I went back home.
~swimming/barbecuing/fireworking/pretending a mouse didn't run into the fire at the steenberghs. I'm proud of myself for being stoic for once and staying in the cold pool as long as I did. it felt like I should have stayed out for three hours after that... and then I had to go home and go to school while everyone else enjoyed a summer night. asdhuaisdbasidsa.
three half days with no real exams left. the reason I live is almost here. meaning... summer. I'm so ridiculously happy.
