Mission & Vision of BCF
Buckhead Community Fellowship, the place I spend most Sabbath mornings, has been wrestling with it's mission and vision. This morning the leadership shared the results of it's visioning excercise with everyone. The following are my rough notes.

I've probably seen Ethos Water before in Whole Food or Starbucks but never took notice of it. The only time I buy bottled water is when I'm on the road. Steampunk Extravaganza
This is for those who, like me, love steampunk anime (Last Exile, Howl's Moving Castle, etc.), the look of Terry Gillam's Brazil or perhaps are big Jules Verne fans will really enjoy browsing through Wired Magazine's magnificent Steampunk Gallery. Personally, I want either a Junk Bot, or perhaps that marvelous keyboard and monitor. -
The New Monastics
When I called my dad from Invisible Children's Displace Me event he cried to my mom in partial mock horror "we've got a flower child!" I got a strange sensation from that comment, I was amused, offended, and challenged all at the same time. An Experiment
Try this: open a window before you go to bed. Perhaps two. If it is cold, open them only a little. If it is warm open the one closest to you a bit more. Then see how you sleep.
I find that I wake after six hours refreshed and ready for the day regardless of what hour it is in the morning. Today it was 4:00 am because I went to bed at 10:00 -
KJV-only against the spirit of the translation
I've met, talked, and studied with quite a few KJV-only advocates. While they are often nice sincere people I am quite convinced that they are misguided in their views. But I was particularly amused when Hugo in the Seventh-Day Adventist to Roman Catholic blog pointed out that the very nature of the KJV-only movement is quite counter to the ( Read more... ) -
