Steampunk Picnic!

Well today was pretty exciting. Jake and I went to the first annual steam punk picnic. It met up with the group at 11 o'clock this morning, got to know some of the people there ( there were like ten of us -- if that? ) and we walked to the ferry docs after a few fun photos. It was a lot of fun, they are very intelligent, polite and reasonably

I'm unbelievably jealous. All I did was watch shawshank redemption at a friends house with his rabbit and dogs (the rabbit LOVED me - an unholy amount. It would just hop right onto me and settle, and if I stopped petting it it would sniffle at me). This looks like so much fun! PS: MATT. HOT. ARG SO JEALOUS.

I like that whole 'getting-outta-anime' thing...I feel the same way. I dunno what will happen in the future but I"m pretty sure I"m just outgrowing anime and such. I dunno if I"ll get into another scene, but so far I have to just be honest and say : I am only equipped to be ghetto (and I'm now aquiring a drug habit so that's outta the question) or a slut (and i'm not willing to start taking the pill) ----- clearly, I am at a loss. Which is fine! Naked it is! WHEE!

Some of these costumes are awesome! And Jakey, you rock so much. Deragned puppy ftw.

I've liked the idea of steampunk ever since I'd heard of it, but its really neat to see pics, cause I was never entirely sure how to go about it.

Your day looked totally awesome. I loled when I saw that you brought the ever lovely automan with you. I bet he got lots of love. But where is his steampunk outfit?

And like Fiona, I agree with the 'outgrown the anime scene'. I'd never heard it put like that, but its sums up pretty well how I felt at the last Anime North I attended. I was glad for the time spent with friends, but the scene was not mine.

I'll have to ask you and Lemon if comic/Sci-Fi/whathaveyou conventions feel any different, because I still want to try making a costume for something like that. Costumes are still fun. :)
