... Your (really, really long) post's made me think, because I've only just read up to vol 10 of the manga and 24 of the episodes (and 2 eps of the Rikkai arc), so I'm missing most of this stuff, but from what I saw of the characters from... volume 5 (?) I was all: Tezuka is in love with Ryoma!
I confuse myself- I have little to none concrete proof but it's there, the feeling that those two are together. Or should be, in any case (taking Ryoma's age into consideration).
