Can mochi actually be flavoured? I thought they were rice cakes, rather like the Japanese equivalent of Indian idlis. Shaped and coloured, I can see, but flavoured, especially with something sweet? Or am I completely mistaken? *is bewildered*

In any case, I totally missed the significance of the grapes! I was all caught up in the colour, instead of the Ponta reference. :D

Ryoma fumbles at the paper with gloved fingers, not quite willing to rip it Of course he doesn't rip it. He'll preserve the lilac wrapping paper forever and carefully lay it in the box with the Seigaku photograph (where he drew hearts around Tezuka's face) and the very first ball Tezuka gave him.

Ryoma doodling tennis balls on thank you cards (I'm sure he doodled Karupin on some others) and nearly-smiling!Tezuka. I will never get over my delight at nearly-smiling!Tezuka, let alone Tezuka ACTUALLY SMILING AT RYOMA. ♥

Tezuka should smile more :(( Of course, this would require that he spend more time around Ryoma. So it is practically foreordained.
