I think this is the summer I miss all the cool stuff, like Pennsic, Worldcon, and Dragon Con. Mind you, I've never been to Pennsic or Worldcon, and it's years since I've been to a Dragon Con, but now that I'm reading Livejournal and Facebook regularly I can read about people having fun there ( Read more... )

I hear you. This has been one of those years where I'm acutely aware of what I'm missing, too. We'll skip the facts that I don't have the money to do everything, and I wouldn't have time to do it all if I *did* have the money.

Will you make Beggar's this weekend?

I'll be there. It's all I can afford with the new (to me) truck. But at least I have wheels.

I'm lucky, really, in that I have so many projects and supplies for projects that I don't have to leave the house for a couple of months. Looks like I'll be playing hermit until my finances settle down.

I just don't know how people with kids do it. My hat's off to you.
