"I thought about going easy on you when you didn't recognize me," said Derek conversationally. "But then I thought, fuck it, I'm an orphan, I don't have to have morals."

Star Trek: You Are Beary Stupid (But We Love You Anyway)
While both the intervention and the curry were great, Operation Freedom recommenced the following day. Jim stepped off the turbolift into the lobby wearing borrowed scrubs, and nearly suffered a heart attack when he recognized the pointed throat-clearing directly to his right.
All Bones did was raise an eyebrow. He was leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, like he'd been manning his post for a while but could keep going all day if need be.
"I can explain," Jim blurted, frantically trying to think of a way to explain.

Night Vale: If the Government Could Read My Mind, They'd Know I'm Thinking of You
"Cecil's pretty upset about you not listening to his show," said the secret policeman. At Carlos' blank look, he went on, "He was talking to his mother about it on the phone this morning."
"Oh," said Carlos. "I see."
"The Sheriff's secret police force as a collective really likes that kid," said the policeman. "Although we'll deny it unequivocally and you'll disappear if you say anything about that."
GenKill: This Gray Shadow, Once a Man
Brad levered himself out of his chair as Ray said, "I thought he was on light duty!"
"We're just going to look at a body, Ray, but thanks for your concern," said Nate.
"What if it's a zombie?" Ray asked, pointing accusingly like he'd caught Nate in a logical fallacy. "Hey, have you ever had zombies? That'd be some freaky goddamn shit. I think no matter how shitty a day I had at work, I'd still put it in the win column if there were no zombie outbreak to deal with."
"Jesus Christ," said Brad, abruptly missing the opiates. They'd made Ray pretty tolerable.
"If I were you, Nate, I'd worry that every corpse I had to look at might be one of the fast-moving zombies. It would bother me."

Star Trek: This Trailer Park Is a Shithole but Goddammit, It's Home
"In the five days since you fucked off wherever you went and Mr. McCoy went to New Brunswick, an element even more unsavoury than yourself has taken up residence in the park. He's living in Leonard's trailer, actually."
Jim glared. "He doesn't fucking own Bones' trailer, so why not just kick his ass out? Why haven't Sulu and Chekov already done that? They're supposed to be looking after the place."
Marcus looked awkward. "He's got a gun."
"I have a gun, you still think you have a bigger dick than me," Jim retorted.

GenKill: That Blessed Arrangement, That Dream Within a Dream
Around the second pot of coffee, after Brad had downed greasy eggs and Nate had grimaced and passed on eating, the hangover had started to recede and reality was rushing in to take its place. The marriage license sat damningly on the kitchen table, slightly creased.
