I'd have thought that that sort of thing was too difficult for A-level, unless they've got harder again in the last eight years. (Eeep, it is really eight years since I finished school! How?!) I guess at least mechanics won't have the physics exam problem that you can't assume any candidate is doing maths. Physics without maths above GCSE was interesting... in a train-crash sort of way.

Maybe this could be a new question on the A-level Mechanics exam (assume that the hardwood floor is a frictionless surface ...)?
