I think what he is saying is that sex is horrifying because it's repetitive. In context with the quote I put, it was said earlier that we are disillusioned by the free market because it is not as exciting and fast pace as we thought it would be; rather, it is allows us to be comfortable in what we do, hence the reason why it's boring.
