i'm curious-- what was it like to have to tell people that you might have passed them an STD?

It was uncomfortable, certainly, but not as bad as it could have been had it been something more serious. The STD I was told I had is easily treated and cured with simple antibiotics, so I knew that my phone call would only lead to further phone calls and doctor visits, not life-altering changes. I was just as direct and straightforward as possible and, luckily, was able to direct people to a good sex educator to get their questions answered.
