I need a horse. The barkeep at Rat's Tail said there was a place here that sold them, but it looks like they're involuntarily shut down for a while. Is this a cursed place or something? The hell.

Cursed is a pretty nice way of putting it. Hell, I'm not even sure people actually buy horses anymore. I know I don't.

Why not? The thomases are all right. And the chocobos have those big feet. Of course, no one will take you seriously on one.
