I think all your comments are well thought out and cogent. What baffles me is the lack of cooperation I see among so many supposed interested parties. It would seem to me that a new or alternative energy policy would please the enviromental lobby, those concerned about national security and people interested in a stronger economy. Yet the cooperation between any or all of these and others goes unexplored. President Kennedy said it was the nations goal to go to the moon by the end of the decade (60's) and we set our mind toward it and achieved it. Seems that it should take that same resolve and forward thinking (and cooperation) to addressing the nations energy needs. Yet in a petty display of everyone protecting their own interests (sin) the silence is deafening.
