PBS Sounstage! Amazing!
I promised to give an account of the taping but it's been such a busy week for me so far that I haven't gotten the chance. I'm still on such a high from Monday night's events that I don't even know how to start or what to cover. And yet, even now I really don't have the time to be on LJ to recount it but I don't want to leave you guys with nothing so I'll go so far as to describe what she was wearing...
It took quite a while for the performance to begin though it didn't take too long for us to be seated (I have a whole other story about that if you'd like to hear it). Everyone was chattering for at least a good 30 minutes (I may be exaggerating) until one of the guys involved with the taping finally walked out on stage. There was immediate applause though I'm sure no one in the audience knew who he was and he basically went through the guidelines; explaining that it was a taping, no cameras, phones off, encouraged audience enthusiasm (as if we really needed it). When he finally introduced Idina, the audience roared and I swear it felt like I was watching her walk out in slow motion. One second the stage is empty and then the next I see her emerging from behind the piano (we were seated to her right). She was absolutely GORGEOUS in this simple all navy blue dress paired with a sparkly crystal/bead-y necklace. The dress, if my memory isn't messing with me was something of a spaghetti strap type with a simple middle/bodice that clung to her figure beautifully. The skirt of the dress gave off a sort of gypsy-girl vibe and looked kind of like this-
Except it had slightly a bit more volume and the entire dress itself had lush-er fabric. Her hair was styled wavy just like it has been for most of her concert tour (from what I've seen). The songs and the way everything played out was pretty much identical to what everyone else has described about her east coast concerts but I certainly need to come back and tell you about her little mess ups and things that will most definately be cut from what will be aired on PBS!! ANNDDD of course, there's Josh Groban! I also need to post some pictures of the stage(sad thats all I could get...no video clips!! and no idina!!)
