So I started reading X-Men, vol 2 issue #1 (started in 1991), and man, I don't understand how people can keep up with comcis. Actually, scratch that, I get how you keep up with them. I don't really get how you get INTO them. This shit is HARD

Yeah, I feel like I could talk FOREVER about the male gaze, but I suspect it's been talked about and more eloquently by other people already. I'm glad it gets better though. Maybe one day we'll reach a point where the men aren't all muscles and the women aren't all boobs and butts!

Haha, yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing. Although it definitely helps that I've absorbed a lot of comics knowledge from general pop culture!

LOL yeah, not gonna lie, I'm mostly reading these for Charles and Erik. :D I actually might end up putting something together once I get through a bunch of it though. Just for reference's sake.

Sadly, all major comics do that switching between titles, I feel like it's even worse for current storylines. Instead of reading the same title in order, you have to read by major storyline.

OMG Mojo is fucking hilariousss. patientalien and I want to write a "Rocky Horror" fusion at some point (Mags is Rocky, Charles is Dr. Scott, Jean and Scott are Janet and Brad ... you get it), and then in the "Shock Treatment"-esque sequel, it's Mojo running the TV studio. Naturally, Jean and Scott's sex life has gone significantly downhill ever since he stopped wearing women's underwear for funsies. (Also, strangely, the wife cackles at Mojo but will not touch Brainchild from the Savage Land with a ten foot pole. IDK.)

IDK, there's just something about Mojo that completely rubs me the wrong way. That said, I would totally read that Rocky Horror fusion!!! And I am fully prepared to ship the shit out of Rocky and Dr. Scott.
