my teeth feel great

This is kind of late, but here is a pretty good script for making the new LJ comment pages look more like the old style. Personally, I don't mind the new, so the only thing I changed was the font, because I hate Arial ( Read more... )

HOLY SHIT THE COSTUMES.

I read comics on my ipad on the way to work, and sometimes I feel embarrassed because like, Roque or whatever looks anatomically impossible and I have to see if someone behind me is looking over my shoulder going "what is she reading why is she reading this is she a teenaged boy?"

I'm still only reading the Apocalypse arc and finding it hilarious IDK his CHILD LOOKS LIKE BABY MCAVOY THIS IS AMAZING DID HE CLONE HIM? WAS ROQUE AWARE OF IT? THAT'S CREEPY, ERIK.

Wait, you mean Rogue, right? And not that dude from The Losers.

And yep, the costumes are always crazy. Women must always stand so that their boobs and ass are displayed, and guys have way too many muscles to be real.

I love AoA!Erik. He's always like, "idk, my dead bff Charles?" and it is great. I also like that baby Charles Lehnsherr has some sort of psionic powers, because it makes him seem even more like a clone.

Oh right yes Rogue. I'm terrible with spelling names, sorry. Well terrible with names in general I can watch entire seasons of shows and still not know the characters' names. I think I kept calling Losers Roque Rogue for at least six months, and apparently A. goes through all my fic and fixes the "Lensherr" because I keep spelling it wrong.

ANYWAY. Like I was standing in the train and I stuck my foot out and arched my ass like one of the characters and like WHO STANDS LIKE THAT, EVER. NO-ONE, THAT'S WHO. I don't even think the body contorts that way.

Also I can't get over giant Erik. Like he's the size of a tree. And sometimes he has pigtails. I love it.

Does he? I haven't gotten that far yet. But I find all of Erik's speeches darling though. Dude's been dead twenty-years and Erik's still not over it.

I often like to practice comic book poses in my bathroom mirror. IT'S A LEGIT HOBBY OKAY. The thing is, a lot of them are possible, especially for people who are fit and flexible, but they're also really awkward and sometimes painful. I've resigned myself to the fact that most comics artists just don't understand how women's bodies work, but I still love complaining about it.

Erik's hair in AoA is one of my favorite things ever!! Ponytails! SO GREAT.

Well, baby Charles' power is not really made explicit, but it's implied that he has some sort of psionic power. I choose to believe that when he grows up, he'll be a powerful telepath like his namesake.

The Blind Banker is universally acknowledged to be the worst episode, so you're in good company there. Personally, I think the second season was stronger than the first overall, so I hope you like it! :D

ILS this is your first year roommate. I'm almost never on lj, and when I am, always in a silent/stalking capacity but I have to comment on this post because everything in it is awesome. I'm also getting into superheroes AND I can't wait to finish watching this new season of Sherlock, so I just have to say: wohooo ( ... )

OMG JANE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TELL ME WHO YOU ARE I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. :D :D :D

I've got about two years more to read before I get to the Grant Morrison run and I am really excited. Also, alien impregnation is always up my alley! I am also totally into Magneto and Rogue, and I suspect most of that is because I loved them together in Age of Apocalypse, despite it being pretty random. Also, ten more years of comicssss to read and then I'm going back to old school X-Men by Chris Claremont from the 70s and 80s because everyone says that is a great run. JANE COMICS ARE SO GREAT!!! Why did I not get into them before????

I didn't know you and Nick were roommates! I miss Chicago. :( :( :(

I was so confused at first by all the X-Men stuff, and all the different titles and volumes, but jumping in really is the best method, I've found. Plus, now I've got a hang of comics lingo, so it's easier to figure out what's what.

That Project Rooftop site is AWESOME. So much pretty art!!

Haha, oh god, that swimsuit art. The one with Iron Man in bermuda shorts wins at WTF, but the rest are pretty great as well.

Keeping up long distance communication is hard. I am sadly also pretty terrible at it.
