Con report for day 1, finally!

But first, vote for Dean. Do it. I love the Tenth, but c'mon. It's Dean.

And now, my con report, day 1!

God, that plane. If you look up an Embraer 140/145, you'll realize that it's a little bigger than a puddle-jumper, only with less leg room. But it got me to Philly safely, and our pilot was a hot Australian guy, so score.

And then I met Jess, which was awesome! The first, like, hour was a little awkward, I bet we'll both admit. We both are kind of weird around new people, and even though we've known each other basically forever online, it was still kind of funny. But I don't really shut up when I'm nervous, so I think I rambled a bit too much. We also got separated on the train back to her car, but still, I was in Philly! With Jess! It was awesome.

When we got back to her house I met her dog, who's the cutest thing, I swear. Nice too, to me at least. LOL, apparently that's not always the case? And her mom and dad are just too nice. I was greeted at the door by a huge hug from her mom, who I think was just relieved that I wasn't an ax-murderer or something, lol. We watched some television and ate some pizza and...I fell asleep kind of early, despite my nerves and everything.

Woke up late, though. Well, relatively. We got an early start and actually got checked in to the hotel around noonish, after meeting some fellow fans before we even walked in the door. We got registered for the con, and got some freebies (a canvas bag with a Supernatural patch on it, and a seriously hot print of Jensen as Dean). We got our passes and our bracelets and then headed off to find our seats: D22 and D23.

Only before that I bought a picture of Dean and Sam, and then one of Castiel, and then a poster of Dean and Sam exploring a room that has bits and pieces of brain matter in the corner. And maybe some other stuff, like a book. I needed it all, I swear.

The people who ended up sitting next to Jess were kind of weird, and the people behind us were awesome (HI daisiesdaily and nothingscripted!) To be honest, I don't remember much of it before Chad was announced, because I was too excited and flaily.

And then, Chad Lindberg. He was hilarious and amazing. He talked about My Big Break, and he talked about other past projects. A lot of people asked different versions of questions on how he might return to Supernatural, which I think would be awesome. He said his line, "Business up in the front, and a party in the back!"

Someone asked him who he'd hook up with in the show, and he starts talking about how Ash wasn't going to be tied down, and how he couldn't just choose just one because that wasn't right. Someone in the audience shouted out "Dean!" And of course, Chad immediately says, "YES! Of course, it's Dean! It's always Dean." And then he goes on to make a joke about Dean running his fingers through Ash's mullet, and saying "'Ash,' this is my terrible Jensen impersonation, 'Ash, Sam's not goin' to understand this,'" and then he had to stop because he was cracking himself up along with, like, everyone else in the room. The guy is hilarious.

He'd been to other conventions before, and apologized for telling us some of the same stories again, but it was perfect for Jess and I since this was our first. :D

We got some food (tuna sandwiches and sodas) and I chatted with the barrista about her niece. And then we scarfed our food up in the room and walked in on Jason Manns. He's...huge. Like, not fat, but just bulky and tall and big. He was sitting up on stage talking about how he and Jensen shot each other with bb guns, and then he answered some other questions, like if he can watch Supernatural and really get invested in the story line, or if he's just looking at it and thinking, "that was really well done." He said that it's a little of both; he kind of detaches himself because he knows the guys, but sometimes he finds himself on the edge of his seat. I adored him by the end of his panel, because he's got the cutest smile and such a great laugh. He's hilarious, too. He talked about how his music finally got on the show, too, which was really funny. Kripke thought they'd had it on once before, and they hadn't, so he had Jason give him a cd. On the Thursday of the s4 premiere, he and Jensen were talking on the phone and Jason said something like, "Hey, I think one of my song's somewhere in this episode," or something, and he said Jensen laughed and said, "Dude, I meant to tell you. It's hilarious," and then, we had Dean telling Sam that he wasn't supposed to douche up his baby, and tossing the iPod and jack somewhere in the back seat.

I ended up buying all of his cds, as well as this awesome t-shirt that I ended up wearing on the plane home. I wore an undershirt, too, because it's kind of see-through. So, so soft, though, so it's worth it. I got his autograph, and he's just...adorable in person, and so damn nice. And hot, because his ARMS. When I walked up there I was kind of ogling them, but them he looked up at me and just grinned, and said, "Hi!" and I greeted him, too, and handed him one of my new cds for him to sign. As he was doing that, he said, "I like your hair!" and I said, "I like your hair too," and well, Jess said it really well here so I'm stealing it from her post:

We went up and got his autograph, and he said he liked Jen's hair, and she said she liked his, and he smiled, and holy crap, he's just adorable. You just want to take him home and cuddle with him. So we were squeeing after, and Jen was all, "He liked my hair! And I said I liked his! And I wasn't lying! I wasn't lying to Jason Manns!!"

Which was really funny, because while he was doing his Q&A, his hair didn't look too awesome. I think it was wet, like he'd just showered, but it looked kind of greasy. But it so didn't up close. It looked soft and like you'd want to run your fingers through it. Uh, yeah.

The concert was amazing, too. I was surprised how much I loved the music. He has an amazing voice, and I'll upload a couple of songs along with the rest of the media in a later post. But he sang some beautiful covers of some songs; Hallelujah was by far my favorite, but I've always loved that song. Steal My Kisses was wonderful, too, and his cover of Prince's Kiss, and well as all of his original songs. They were all great.

And then...well. We missed Chad at karaoke, which sucked, but as I posted before, lol we met up with him the next day in the elevator. Now, though, I'm going to bed. I'll post more tomorrow after work! :D

holy crap show, awesomeness, convention, i love this show, spn, supernatural
