Pope Innocent X is by far one of the creepiest, yet fantastic works of art I've had the pleasure of studying.

I haven't actually. We didn't get much opportunity to spend a lot of time looking at him. Just kind of a fleeting look. But I do like the work I've seen outside school.

you should read "Concerning the Spritual in art"
by Kandinsky. It will give you some insight into what he is trying to do with color and non-objective imagery.
