"We're not, we're just going to make it look like we tried so they don't get suspicious." Pippi explained flouncing over and motioning for him to follow her into the tree line.

"If they're able to get too far without some kind of move on our part, they might think something is up elsewhere and radio back. If we make an... abortive attempt, they'll think, 'Ah hah! We've defeated them with our superior numbers! Surely now they will become demoralized at the prospect of freezing to death!' You see?"

"Actually, it was the Carstairs guy who came up with this one." Pippi admitted as they joined the two soldiers who came with them.

"He's very clever, I like him. Okay, take a few potshots at the trucks when they stop. Cry out in alarm when you see how many guys they have with them and then book it. Jamie and I will sneak back to the depot, you two head to the old camp site and don't bother to cover your tracks. Once you're there, head to the new camp site but be more careful how you go."

Off in the distance, they could hear the sound of trucks.

"Here they come, split up!"

Pippi was short sheeting the cots in a large multi person tent.

"This is like taking candy from a baby." she said quietly. "Only I don't feel bad at all."

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't be wrong if the baby was eating to much candy and was going to get sick..." Pippi mused opening a footlocker to stuff some blankets inside and take the whole thing away. "Or if it was going to.. spoil its... Uh oh... Jamie?"
