You know how in high school, adults kept talking about your "permanent record, a record that will follow you the rest of your life?" Turns out that not only does it not actually follow you, but tracking it all down can be a real pill.

I think they're only permanent until you graduate from College. Then people don't care what you did in HS. In other words, most recent only please.

BTW - great song you're listening to.

I always loved the Performance soundtrack for all the great Ry Cooder slide guitar pieces, but Memo From Turner is probably my favorite song on the album.

Hopefully my records are still around. I'll know in a few days one way or the other. Since I went to high school before 1986, it's likely that, as Scott mentioned above, they're in a file box somewhere as opposed to a database, which will suck.

At least this is the first and last time I'll have to deal with this :)

It's the same down here. After the 12th grade you get your High School Certificate (HSC) which then determines what kind of University placement you get based upon your marks (>98.5 = Medicine, >92 = Law, >50 = Arts, etc).

I was asked to provide my HSC results for my first job. Never asked for it again.
