I don't think anyone's naive enough to think it's an outright victory, but people who've been trying to downplay its effects on Al Qaeda are completely wrong. It is the assassination of Islamic fundamentalism's greatest icon, and the seizing of his hard drive will have untold benefits. It may even have a knock on effect in things such as negotiating with the Taliban, or weakening radicalisation in Pakistan. Psychologically, it also says, "no one is safe. We will get you."
I think the positive effect it will have on world politics is certainly worth celebrating.
