What Kind Of Day Has It Been?

Jan 25, 2008 00:52

It's been that kind of day. Yesterday the electricians blew the breaker controlling the power to my room's heater, a fact I didn't learn until late in the day. I made an appointment for the KBR repair crew to come by to fix it, but their main desk reversed the times I'd be there and not, so they came while I was out. Repeatedly. I tried one last ( Read more... )

Thanks for taking the time. I can't wait for your evil half and you to come visit, and for you to be out of danger.
I am glad that you define your mission in a way that allows you to accomplish it - I "support" our troops in the same way. Actually, strike the quotes - I want every American soldier to come home. Alive. Period.

"Evil half"? Flatterer; quit flirting unless you plan to follow up, sweetie.

~rounds on her husband~ As for you, kindly remember that even if I'm not online, my cell phone is never more than three feet away from me and always on, and you're not shelling out the bucks for internet phone for nothing. If you need to hear my voice, call me; I'll try not to bitch about it too much.

I definitely agree on you coming home. I know that it's definitely causing fatigue and I know both you and sis want to be happy bunnies for a while. Yes, I said that! Either way, I agree on the stay safe thing. Just get back to the US in one, living piece please. I want both you and sis to come up and visit again. As for the whole support our troops thing...I have made it very clear I support you and only you, and want you home.

Now stay safe, try to rest, and come back to my sister alive and in one piece. Love you bro *hugs you*

Although not every member of the US Armed Forces feels the same about this war, everyone deserves to come home safe and sound. What made you decide to support only Brian? Do you mean that no one else deserves your support? Have all the other servicemen offended you in some way?

No, I have a relative in the Marines, though he's not in Iraq. As Brian can explain, I do want all of them home, I'm just more attached and more into Brian coming home. The reason I support Brian is because he's been a good friend and he's made my sister happy, which is all I can ask for. I know other people need my support, like my cousin. I'm just WAY more loyal to family than I am to anybody else, and am more interested in them being brought home safely. I know that probably sounds shallow, but it's only because I care about him a lot and I know what it would do if something were to happen to him to my sister. I don't want to see her hurt, so it makes me care more about seeing him home than anybody else, even though I do want them all home. I've been against this war since the get go.

To fix my botched sentence: if something were to happen to him, it would hurt my sister.

Where Morale is Optional anonymous January 26 2008, 04:59:07 UTC
I have a scan of a patch that shows two military guys, one is delivering a powerful kick to the other in the crotch. The top banner reads: Welcome to Weather! The bottom banner reads: Where Morale is Optional. Both guys are in flight suits so I am pretty sure the weather guys didn't originate it. I am guessing probably the AWACS guys made it. But the sentiment is the same and I found it fitting. I thought of that patch when I read your post ( ... )

That patch would find much recognition around here. The Division's official moniker is the "Rock of the Marne!". We generally rephrase it as "Cock of the Marne!" Ride the Marne Express! Our division, and our Brigade particularly seem to always get handed the shit jobs, early deployments, and later returns. I know part of that is the fact that we're one of the few heavy mech brigades _left_ in the Army (poor planning, there), and part of it is that we're just that good. We get handed the tough jobs for a reason. But from the sharp end, it just feels like the true spirit of or division in MARNE (My Ass Raping Never Ends, much worse than BOHICA ( ... )

Just glad to hear that you're happy with the chow. You can't really understand how much food is connected to morale until you eat out in the field. It was a surprise to me ( ... )
