I'm actually writing my bandombigbang fic based around the newsboy strike of 1899. Exciting. All the Fueled By Ramen group members as newsies. A good time will be had by all.
So, as if I didn't already hijack your comments here once...
I finished watching the movie today. And, er, well...why is it a musical? I mean, I really love musicals, but seriously...why is this a musical?
Aside from that...I didn't see any of the pairing you mentioned. Except Jack/David. But...if I was going to ship, I'd ship Jack/Spot (who, yeah, hot). However, I have three separate windows up with three fics you recced (Vaudeville won't come up. Says it's forbidden.)
So, in closing, while I am very much giving it a chance...I don't think I will be able to even come close to your level of excitement. Good movie (WHY is it a musical???), but I'm not interested in the fandom.
I...don't know why it's a musical. Just...because? Because it's Kenny Ortega? Dunno!
And, yeah. You can't really see much of the other two pairings - I was awfully confused when I first entered the fandom and discovered how popular they were. But then I forced myself to read "Everything You've Done Wrong" and was like, holy crap LOVE.
As for the allure of Jack/Spot (which I must agree, Yeah freaking hot): Here's some.
And in regards to Vaudeville - you've gotta be friends with the author before you can read. She's pretty fantastic by the way - and her fic is really, truly amazing.
It's okay that you're not into it as much as me. I'm a tad bit over the moon, I know. XD
Again, I love musicals, and Kenny Ortega is awesome just because, but...this would work as a non-musical just as well.
(I've got Take Good Care of the Poor Boy and Everything You've Done Wrong. I already read Maternity Instinct (mpreg is my guilty pleasure--holy crack!bunny Batman, is there any D/J mpreg?))
Yeah, I agree. I think it would have been just fine as a non-musical, regular movie. But then again, it would lose some of its charm as a cheesy Disney musical. And the dancing. And the singing. And I can't help it, I love it so!
(Ooooo! I hope you read EYDW first - only because it was written first and because TGCofPB is still a WIP. EEEP! Maternity Instinct is SO good! [holy crud, I never thought of that. Hmmm. save that idea for Monday])
