I think you should not wait per se but don't go out looking for someone or something to drown your sorrows. NO BINGE DRINKING!!!!! I know you too well. I will be there at xmas to try to keep you slightly moderated (not that it'll do any good...) I know what you will be like at the rave and I am expecting that but I just don't want you to run to the arms of the first boy that catches your eye *cough Jon cough*. All i'm saying is be careful little brother and I will be here if you need me (which I know you will) or if you want to talk (which you probably won't).
