Gathering Cars and the baby

There was an event last weekend, anyone notice!

That was by far the most action packed emotional Gathering I have been at. It had everything, from faction actionto group roleplay to huge fights. And somehow I managed to fit that all into the 3 scant hours I played before I was killed! Barley a handful of hours past time in the Vipers and Trannies decided on there own style of opening ceremony and tore through our camp unannounced and in the fighting I wasdragged of and killed in a number of interesting ways. Thus ended My Gathering as a player (Time, 7:30 Friday evening).

I was ecstatic about the way it wnet down, only complaint being they didn't BoB me which I was hopping for. I'd played the character for 2 years and in those 2 years I had ticked all the boxes for what I wanted to do with him. I had led to military command of the Lions (With the help of the Rhysarius massacare) I had gotten the lions to fight as a tight unit which had seen them perform heroics on one or two battle fields. I had helped in forging alliances between some of the "gooder" factions to counteract the Northern Alliance. I had regenerated PvP between the factions. I had put my head on the mantle piece for my enemies to know me, possibly fear me but certainly see me as enough of a threat that they have to make plans to kill me. So when I died I had no regrets. Sure I was loving playing the character, in fact he's probably the character I have enjoyed playing the most and bonded with the most, but he had done all I wanted him to do.

I cannot tell you how good a faction the lions are to play in. as with any place it has some numpties, but the command crew are an astounding bunch and really look after there people well. I would recomend this faction to anyone who wants a challenging good time! I cannot wax lyrical enough about the Vipers and Trannies. They are 2 factions of players playing "The bad guys" but are all such sound people. If you want PvP, set yourself against them. They are good natured players and scarily competent at what they do. they will challenge you and then leave you for dead and you will thank them, like I am for it. I was a pleasure and experience to play against you .

So what now, time for me to return to where my heart is in this game system and that is staffing. The 2 year play sabbatical has done me the world of good, it really has, but know I am ready to go back and do my bit on the other side of the fence making the system even better. I've come away from the playing break full of enthusiasm for the system which still offers the best political PvP going! I was Lucky to be offered my orange tabard back by _kol and am going to rejoin the ref team full time, although I still hope to play part time.

So for the other 95% of the event I refed, and if Friday night was anything to go by my help was needed! It started again Saturday morning when at 10:30 revenge hits against My death and tremaynes death. This was quickly followed by another assault on the lions camp, this time while their allies were away. A breif break for a quick void rip then it was away to the dragons where the harts were attacking them. By the time the dragons allies made it from the far side of camp to aid them, the harts returned to camp. and the dragons allies sloped off past the ominous force of vipers and trannies formed outside their gates. Once the allies had left the ominous force decided to march on the still recovering dragons. When the allies returned we had the turning point of the weekend, between the allies and the dragons stood the wolves, who in the past because of the NA would have prevented the allies passage, instead the wnet home and the allies raced to the hel pof the dragons and after recieving 2 sound kicking that morning and the previous night routed the viper/trannie army and then ran wild in there deserted camps killing anyone who was left. In response the Viper/Trannies reacted in the way they know best and we had another night of long knives. Although that makes it sound precise and delicate.. it wa s night of heavy clubs as they wreaked revenge on the market place.  The dust settled and blimey, were were only half way thorugh.

Sunday was fairly taken up with the Cadre battle, where a great battle field performance by the heavily outnumbered famine and there amazing stealth ritual teams gave them an equal score from the battkle field objectives. However because they were a few points behind at the start of the battle and also the fact they lost their 2 embodiments (Morbo Smash Fate Bitch Lady!!) meant they over all came second to peace. What does this mean.. I have no clue, i've only just come back on staff! Then on Monday we had the ctaclysm battle, which for my money also saw the most impressive referee decisons I have ever seen. The battle started badly from a ref and safety point of view due to a miscommunication on player start points. this meant the first 20-30 minutes was a disaster, seeing the situation deteriorate the ref team made some amazing on the spot decisions (Not me I was dealing with the monster crew so could not see the battle as a whole) and within minutes we puleld the battle under control and made the last half hour to hour of it safer and a lot more fun. Just a shame we had no pyro's :-( The result of the battle was a score draw. Again not sure how, but this will have a tangible impact on the gameworld!!! So I am enthused to be staffing for the LT again and now cannot wait until May for it all to start again.

So over the weekend the auction for my car finished, at £152. Yesterday the winning bidder came to collect her. She looked so sad as I revved her up and took her for a spin around the block one last time. And even sadder when they buyer, who was not Jeremy Clarkson (oh how he missed out) told me he wanted her as owned a garage and had 2 XR4x4's he needed parts for. So was breaking her up. Still me and the car got our own back on him as it was dark when he collected her so the light chime would have rung all the way from dunstable to cambridge!

New car is still purring along. On her first tank I got 612 miles out of it. Although I did push it beyond sane limits of need to refuel! When I did refuel it I put a lick over 60 litres in! I have just given her her second refill of 52 litres after 540 miles. either way it's a winner on the mileage. The car, which I still have no manual for is still suprising me.. I got a picture of a car with the boot flashing today on the way to work to tell me the boot was open!

This weekend may be project roof bars! followed by a flat pack shed being ratcheted to it

But more important that all of this, the night before last, For the first time I felt our baby kick. Lisa has had the sh1t booted out of her for the last 3 weeks, but that was my first feel of it. I can't quite describe how amazing this was to feel. I am a still in shocked disbelief that I am going to be a dad. Christmas can't come quick enough!

Blimey, that has to be my biggest update ever!!!
