I loved the movie! I will never get picky about the tiny details. I don't care what color Hermione's dress is, Harry's eyes are, Seamus' hair is, or if this exact scene made the movie. All we can ask for is a little bit of full screen HP, right? :)

I just couldn't get past the ending. Harry looked wierdly passive and obedient for any normal humanbeing let alone Harry. And then in the scene with the trio, Ron looked wierdly passive and disconected from what was happening. It wasn't even an issue with my wanting defend Ron from being left out. I couldn't figure out why he was staring into space doing nothing. Both times Harry's and Ron's behavior struck me as abnormal. The scenes seemed like the characters were acting like they were because the writer/director couldn't think of anything for them to do.

Oddly I was still glad I saw the movie.

Yes, because she's ugly, and no one else wants to have to look at her. (which isn't true, I know. I know you're not the only one who thought she was a fascinating character. But I think it would have added a lot of non-action length.)

Merope being ugly is a Great reason to include her. It would be shocking. Think about it. How often do you see someone so ugly that you consciously think "S/he is ugly!"? Not often. She must have been hideous. And the disgusting family and all their scenes could have been action-y. Really!

You're right that there was some action there. Possibly better action than the Burrow burning. Less Bella, though. The camera seems to love Bella.
