Hi! Am posting because I am in India and isn't that cool? I have some free time because everyone else is off seeing the tigers, which I'm not well enough to do

Happy New Year and Happy belated Birthday Stu! I was just thinking about you and wondering how your trip to India was going/had gone - and lo there your post was. I'm sorry you're not well enough to see the tigers but happy we get an update.
It all sounds hugely cool and interesting. Congratulations on your second wedding! Who's Alex Trebek? (Apologies for my ignorance) How much longer are you there for? I hope you feel better soon.
Aren't you a winter birthday, too? LJ won't tell me. Alex Trebek is the host of Jeopardy, a long-running daily trivia show in the U.S. And we just got back to Ohio last night. I did get better, but then I got sick again. I think I'm getting better again. It's a little hard to tell, honestly, whether eating hurts because I'm ill or because I'm out of practice.
WHAT!?!?!?!!? You're in India! That's totally awesome and I'm so jealous of your saris even though I haven't seen them and poor thing! Being sick in unfamiliar places is the worst!
I think that's the most punctuation I've ever seen you use in a row, at least in a long time, which is amusing me a lot.
I have seen some pictures now of me in the saris. Sadly, you can barely see how pretty they are because the silly photographers were interested in my face instead, which was usually doing something ridiculous.
It was so weird being sick without saltines or ginger ale (although ginger ale was eventually located). There was chicken soup, but it was so not the same. The local cure-all is a mixture of boiled rice, potatoes, and chicken that was so mushy it made me gag even after I stopped having the urge otherwise. But they do have this nifty electrolyte stuff to drink.
