Hi, so I am considering transferring to Kingson University just outside of London to study movement and digital media. Things at the academy have gotten so shaky that I don't know if it's worth staying and paying for another 2 years. And even if I don't transfer, I will be in London a lot next year because I'm programming a project for the Tate ( Read more... )

programing a project for the Tate Modern?? That's awesome! Even if you don't have a direct path in mind right now, living in London will be wonderful, and I'm sure while your there the right path will open itself up to you.

Thanks Emily, that makes me feel better :)

Yeah and the whole tate thing is really exciting--it just sort of happened as a result of me performing there a few months ago and keeping in contact with the people who work there. I get to pick an artist and design a workshop/collaborative project for them to hold at the tate. I think I might choose Franko B. or Marisa Carnesky because both of them do really interesting work.

Oh and guess what we are doing right now in class? Suzuki and Viewpoints! xxA

WOW, Amber. I'm proud of you. And I was thinking about you (and talking about you) a lot today because we talked about performance art in my theater history class (for all of 15 minutes, but hey, it's something). I miss Suzuki and Viewpoints like crazy. Actually a few weeks ago I took a viewpoints workshop in the city and saw two of that company's (TheatreLila) productions: one was Firecracker, Chekhov's untitled play, and it was beautiful. The other was a new work called Wonder:LUST and it combined Lewis Caroll, Walt Whitman, and Samuel Beckett texts... reminded me of when Prentiss and Liza did Alice oh so long ago. Ha!

Anyway keep us updated. If you're still in London a year and a half from now I will get to see you!!!

Oh I think I saw a show by TheatreLila when Jamie, Justin and I were doing auditions in New York. They are mostly graduates of Rutgers, right?

I am so thankful for the training we recieved in Viewpoints and Suzuki. Does anyone know what Monica has been doing?
