Finding Comfort

Nov 11, 2007 08:58

This morning I went to Mass with Ilmari. I was raised Catholic as a child, (oh, yes, I'm a typical Frenchman) but I haven't been to church since the Kaibas' wedding. Before that... Well, I didn't see the need. The one thing I didn't appreciate as a kid is how all the masses all around the world are all the same. It's the same three readings - Old ( Read more... )

I love that song. Makes me choked up each time I sing it.

I've only been to Croatian, French, Belgian, and American Mass. I've been trying to find one in near Domino City, but no such luck so far. What's it like in Germany?

You know, pretty much the same. It's just in German. They tend to be more punctual than the French, though.

Are we talking again?

Of course, Muffin! What I said before I didn't mean to hurt you. I just wanted you to know that you may be my friend still, but you can't do everything for me.

*smiles* Thank you for coming with me today Raphael. I felt a bit uncomfortable because I do not know German well, but it was still enjoyable to be here in a nice Catholic church again. I haven't been to go to any type of church in a while, since I've been traveling to many countries that do not know of Christ.

So, you're a missionary as well as a photographer?

*blinks, suprised* What? No, not at all. *looks ashamed* The thought of using my occupation as a way to teach others of Christ never occured to me. Besides... I'm probably not the best person to be representing Him and sharing His Word to others.

Oh, well, you said that you liked to visit countries where they never have heard of Christ. So, I just thought... ^_^; Sorry.

Who can say they are the best person to represent Him?

All around the world? Wow! I've never really looked into the Catholic Mass itself. Now I understand why its "catholic." Must be a wonderful, comforting sense of unity to practice the same thing as people all around the world!

The hymn is very nice. I found it on YouTube to hear it. Very moving! (ooc: One of my personal favorites!)

Yeah, it's a selling point for some. It's on Youtube?

(OOC: Mine, too!)

Yeah, like everything else! ^_^ I've heard that priest conduct Mass on podcasts now! Kinda crazy how almost everything is on the Internet!

Podcasts? Whoa... I knew about TV broadcasts, but wow... The Catholic Church is far more adaptable than it used to be.

Can I have a link to the Youtube one you found?
