Why is it that everybody knows the saying, "You don't know what you got til its gone." I am just wondering if the phrase had a famous beginning or if it is just so true that ppl repeated it enough to spread it around the world.

I bet he'll still come to the meets and stuff and give pointers either that or you'll just have to take things into your own hands. As for the saying: I think its part of a song so maybe it was just sung enough that people started saying it all the time. Or it just appeared. Either way, its unfortunately true. You guys should get him something really cool at the end of the year.

let me point out that yes, it is from a song called Yellow Taxi, and it's not originally done by the Counting Crows (who did a terrible remake by the way). It's by Joni Mitchell. As for the Great Master, I will miss him and I won't even be here next year.

The Student Soldier, Ender.

I concur. The Counting Crows cover of Big Yellow Taxi is quite horrendous. In fact, I can say that their remake made me reconsider my loyalty to the Counting Crows. However, one listen to Mrs. Potter's Lullaby and all is forgiven.

About Coach...We are all going to miss him. He has touched the lives of so many Salpointers that it is unbelievable. Just today, I was running with 4 ex Lancers, some who attended SCHS before I even step foot on the campus, and we all still put one foot in front of the other because of his influence. I am fairly positive that he sparked not only sparked my competitive fire but made me realize that running allows you to transcend the troubles of life---something that I will be forever grateful. If I were you guys, I would feel so lucky to have run under the best coach at Salpointe by miles and the best coach in Arizona.
